_If_ (BIG if) they succeed on a cosmic enough scale, I think it could change the spirit tradition of Thed insofar that the great spirit wouldn't respond to worship in the same way as before. No chance of retroactively exterminating the broo, or changing their basic nature though.

And, the rape of Thed is an event that does happen in the Otherworld. Cancelling it altogether would be exceedingly difficult. What you can do is rediscover a complementary myth which somehow lessens the effect of the well-known one and eventually eclipsing it so that the rape myth sink into obscurity. This would require frequent repetition of the new-found myth of course. Even so, at a later time, an evil broo shaman could always revive the rape myth by reenacting that heroquest.
