Thanks for the replies Peter. I have supplemented reading this chapter with re-reading the mysticism bits in the HW rules in conjunction with your answers. But I have some more questions for anyone who has answers or theories.

Please forgive me if my questions are simplistic.

[RE Sacrificial Theistic worship]

OK, of course its like that. Just like in the other big empire...there are animists, theists and a few sorcerors and mystics?

[I asked about 'regulation' of various forms of worship]
> Why should it be regulated?

Poor choice of words. I meant how is it organised. How do I (as an outsider) know who does what sort of worship to whom?

> >Does everyone worship the Emperor?

> Yes. The Imperial Adorations mentioned on the Glorantha: Intro p183.

Does this occur in Temples? Or is it a more private affair? Of the 4 magical systems, what sort of worship is this?

What worship do the soldiers engage in (for example)? I know they arent all mystics.
Do they worship the Emperor, and so constitute a dragon for the Exarch of the Army/Navy? How is this modeled in HW?

What is it then (in HW terms)?

Groovy.
What do people actually "do" to generate (or feed) such a communal spirit?
