The Celts certainly were skilled artisans and metalworkers.

The Roman Empire stole/copied such things as chainmail, use of soap and the Shortsword from the celts they warred against.

The famous (and ugly) "factory" produced Gladius shortsword is based on a _very_ beautiful celtic shortsword, that had a gracefully curving leaf blade. One of the most beautiful swords ever made, in my humble opinion.
