If you accept the myths from KoDP, then Elmal and Chalana Arroy have a relationship (she was the one who cured him of his egotistic blindness leading to his departure from the solar court). I assume that at some deep and hidden myth level Elmal's ability to put himself back together leads back to CA, and it would make sense that his horse healing abilities could tie in there too.
