Sounds like a chrome question (our kinda thing) rather than a rules question, apart from the last bit (values of resistance). If you want that answered, head on over to HW-rules.

Rather than "theistic rituals", think about sailors' rituals. Shots of grog. Sea shanties. Hornpipes. And why not make up Gloranthan versions of some RW sailing superstitions:

Sailors' Superstitions (seeing a bare-breasted woman: good luck. Having a woman aboard ship: bad luck)

Remember that the Captain is in charge, being Dormal's priest as well as the absolute ruler on the deck of his ship (with powers of life and death over his crewmen). Pipe him on board, remembering the Romans had flutes playing during sacrificial rituals to drown out any ill-omened sounds that might spoil the ritual.

That's how I'd approach it, anyway. Give it a bit of depth, resonance, and cheeky familiarity.

Cheers, Nick
