Tragic themes in role-playing certainly mix in with the heroic ones. Heortlings with feuds and kinstrife are as ripe for tragedies as Beowulf, Icelandic saga or the Battle of Maldon. The warlike Varmandi eventually being exterminated could be right up there. The Dundealos seem to have captured imaginations with mentions of campaigns playing out their fall and player characters from Dundealos lands

What do the heroes do aferwards - well posts on the list suggest a few of us are playing out waht happens to you after p[olitical outlawry at least - form a hero band and right injustice or start a new cla to build a better future for the dispossesed. And don't the Varmandi have kin amongst the Taralings (Lieka's clan?) long ago - or is this part of their fall.
