Having grown up in Monte-Carlo, my understanding of Zistorite machinism will always be linked with slot machines. Zistorite economics from this POV are based on getting people to insert coins into magic boxes for various hopes of pay-out, and distributing coins (instead of goods) as payment for services ; ob-Pavis, your Zistorite might then be involved with the Old Pavis Mint (a great big machine) and, more generally, be a monetarist, questing for a means of destroying the evils of barterism and 'black' economics.
