In which case their place of origin (which is still the God World or the Spirit World) is still apparent.

There are no theistic river spirits. As for river daimones being different from river spirits, the question has already been tackled in Anaxial's Roster p203 ("The Elemental entities of each Otherworld have different abilities and attributes. However they can appear superficially similar - a normal person usually cannot distinguish between a worli, umbroli and kolati although any magician can tell them apart"). There's also mention in Thunder Rebels (p125-128) about how certain winds (Kolati winds, some Uroxi winds) are dangerous because they are spirit winds. Storm Tribe contains similar comments about Heler's clouds.

So from the Orlanthi example, some natural phenomenon are harder to control because they do not originate from the normal divine sources.
