Sure, a liturgist is a magical specialist, although not a very skilled one, for the most part. The true Western magical experts are Wizards and Sorcerors. Western society is more stratified magically than most (or at least many) Theist societies, so I suppose that the average Joe Malkioni Farmer or Soldier is pretty clueless about anything magical.

A Priest is a full time magical specialist, generally a Devotee and usually attached to a temple (as I understand it). A Godi is a part time magical specialist who supports him- or herself through usual Orlanthi methods, usually farming. I believe that most shrines are tended by godir, and they provide necessary intercession, especially for more obscure gods (there are a lot of Ernalda experts around, after all, but Helerings aren't so thick on the ground). Does that help?
