Spirits, Powers, godlings, minor, local or tutelary dieties, Ancient Ones, Watchers. I personally use a lot of words to describe lesser deities, but 'diamones' only rarely.

Its Greek pedigree is impeccable, however. Whatever's right for your campaign. I suspect its use is in direct proportion as to how often you consult the rules.
