Not that it bears any relevance to Glorantha but the difference between Moscow and Athens is that Moscow is celebrating the holiday using the Julian calendar instead of the Gregorian calendar. The Ukranian orthodox church here in Manitoba (and elsewhere of course) celebrates on the 7th of Jan as well.

Maybe both are correct.

Moscow currently celebrates Christmas on January 7th of the civil calendar while Athens celebrates it on December 25th of the civil calendar. They don't quibble with each other over which is "correct" and each accepts the fullness of the other's membership in the same Church.
