The Telmor and Yinkin problem: in case of serious problem, you could always make them return to the real world. If the quest has failed and you don't want to risk improvising a new quest (probably much more difficult since the hero is unprepared) the best course of action could be expulsion from the otherworld (the extra support could help in breaking the barrier on the way back). It's not very heroic but it's plausible.
You could stage this choice as a wise advice from a friendly entity in the otherworld or even as an encounter with a lost quester possibly familiar to them (like the shadow of Agamennon in Ulysses quest to the otherworld: "Oh, you are still alive and able toreturn to the real world. If I were you I would return. If you insist you are doomed like me" etc. etc.). I don't think they are the first one in Glorantha's history to fail the quest, right?
