These are my models for Gloranthan Shamanism. Particularly where the shaman kills his torturer, and THEN threatens him with a trip to hell - personal tour, he knows the way... That's power. I even blatantly stole the idea of his uncle, who 'died on the spike in the square at Kyborosh' - a Passion (pain) Ghost Follower.
Even the metallurgy sort of fits, the common metal is copper, the 'magic' secret metal is bronze. The way it's treated sounds like Gloranthan bronze & iron.
