For me, the perfect Gloranthan moment (though very RQ2) was the brief, all too brief, Agamemnon scene in "Time Bandits", from Sean Connery's opening bronzed battle with the Minotaur up to when Kevin dropped in.

"Age of Iron" is very evocative for me, but then Kalevala has always been on
my list of prime inspirations.

For literary sources for shamanism, Brian Bates' ethnographic 'The Way of Wyrd' paints a wonderful picture of Anglo-Saxon shamanism and magic. There is a sequel 'The Wisdom of the Wyrd" which I haven't read.
