In UW1 I wrote a quite substantial chapter on Copper Town, a Tarshite Mining community. The metal mined here is the remnants of an ancient battle between feuding demi-gods. Local myth suggests that the presence of the Hydra in the Hydra Hills was caused when blood feuding allowed chaos to slip into the world. Torquise is a secondary mineral mined in the area and there is a small deposit of silver as well.
'In the Darkness, whendeath and chaos stalked the world the greatest sin was kin strife. Togloth the Silver Lord, stole the Copper Herd of Undrun from his brothers the Blue SkinGiants, and made a great feast of them to honour his brave thanes. But as thebloated warriors lay asleep within the hills, surrounded by the copper hides,bones and bells of that most magical herd, the vengeful wives of the Blue Skin Giants sneaked into the camp and attacked the celebrants.
