>It's one of those tid-bits that can make a high class Lunar NPC more entertaining.

Or trying to treat an enemy prisoner with honour, only to have him scream blue murder, torture and all the minions of Porchango when you arrive to present him with a satisfying meal of milk and curds. As Asterix would say, 'these Lunars are crazy'.
Peter Metcalfe quibbled about the actual percentage of lactose intolerance in human populations. Authorities seem to quote figures between 70 and 75 % of the world as lactose-intolerant, with the figure rising sharply the further you go back in history, with ground zero around 12,00 BP. Its one of those fascinating, convoluted topics - yes there is a link with the development of dairying - but it has very little to do with the idea I presented - my original arguments stand. For hose with a thirst for more on milk and the inability to drink it, may I suggest the Cambridge History of Food article at
http://us.cambridge.org/Books/kiple/lactose.htm
and drop me an e-mail if you really want to quibble more.
