thank you, doug and wulf and david and jeff and michael. i've got your advice and will be attempting to bend the program to my will. :)

however, i do have version 1.1, david. i suspect that may be responsible, as you mentioned, for my frustration. how to i magically transform my 1.1 into 1.6?
