Well, no standard word for "daimon" can be derived from the names of the daimones and agents of reprisal given in AR, TR and ST.

And even if the Heortlings called them "Umathings" etc... according to their divine origins, this would still be local vocabulary, not what Greg is after.

FWIW, the word "daimon" is derived from the _polytheistic_ culture of Ancient Greece, and is therefore appropriate (from a pedantic POV), even though it _is_ somewhat confusing, because of the history of the word.

Are we looking to find some more appropriately Theyalan/Genertelan variant word for "small gods" ?

Heortlings might just call them Godings (and Gyrdinga-s/en).

Are we looking for some sort of transcultural word for small central Genertelan gods ? Such a word would have been spread by the Lightbringer cults, perhaps, and be derived from Theyalan ; alternatively, it could be from the original Green Age language, as found in Entekosiad. Daimon is the GL word, obviously.

But what is the Pelandan syllable meaning "god/dess" ? That would give us ***-ing/ini etc...

Oni ?
Eling / Elini / Elani ?
Oring / Orini ?

I quite like Goding.

Maybe godling.

I dislike Deva, but it might just be that particular spelling I dislike. Sounds too much like a heavy metal band. Possibly a bit GLish, too. Not that my own suggestions are necessarily any better ...

Daeva ? Devi ? Daeving ?
