Could also be related to Valare Addi (sp?) in The Entekosiad.

She was one of the early worshippers of the Red Goddess that mistook the new goddess for an aspect of Entekos (pelorian goddess of the calm air)but became a powerful heroquester on the way to finding that she was wrong. The Addi was her stick that Valare retrieved from the otherside (she was one of the first Lunars to bring back a physical item from the otherside).
