Don't know enough about the Paris Commune to say. (And no, don't feel inclined to Google to find out at present.)

Possibly the question would work with either. But I thought it was that American bombing incident rather than a French one that Julian was saying suddenly altered the meaning of James Bond books, and I still don't see how. Especially as the books are neither American nor French.

(shrug) So maybe I'm being dumb. This is, sadly, not new, any more than people blowing each other up is new. Want to explain in short words?
