That reminds me of one of the acts at Bumbershoot that John Medway, Ray Chopping and I avoided (we were there to pay our homages to the great Iggy Pop). I think the act was Mary Gauthier, but the writeup described her as being "powered by passion". A band powered by substance abuse or mental illness, I can understand, but powered by passion? Give me a break!
