I'm trying to gauge the interest in an adaptation of Glorantha to Risus: the Anything RPG (available for free at http://www222.pair.com/sjohn/risus.htm )? Let me know, preferably by private email at ghoyle1_at_3wUD1--9IkZ05sg8_Bzgc3N7v-7nJ8_0iUSX1TVDqeAopTmPJY6lXvPIlLMVZ8xcOMTRdvCmzPthbqt-wEg.yahoo.invalid .

If any game system could maximize the potential of durulz-tossing and yurt-wanking, I belie that Risus could be that game.

Hi,

I have played several games of Risus glorantha in my time. It needs little or no development, it works fine as it stands. If the players know Glorantha a little then simply use cultural terms as the cliches. E.g Orlanthi 3, Stinking Barbarian 2, Storm Bull Berserker 4, Drunkard 1 or Lunar Mystic 4, Weirdo 3, Yoga Master 2, Warrior 1.

One of my favourite Risus games was when we played a game of Munchkin Fu, at the end of the game we converted the characters everyone had into Risus characters, I then ran a game where I simply dealt myself four cards in secret, made up a plot about it. When players entered a room I simply drew another card for the encounter, if it was a monster and they beat it then I drew a treasure card, if I felt generous I gave it to them and made up a Risus ability. It was very bizarre, especially as the PC's included a chopstick weilding Ninja who wore high heels, a Transformer Robot Hitman who could transform into a Bicycle and a very fat Sumo guy with spiky armour and a huge Jade Amulet. They all belonged to the Mojo Dojo A-Go-Go! Great fun!

Simon
