mmmn all this talk of book burning is a bit passé.

I mean a load of pissed up geeks gleefully burning a book they dislike in the dark hours of the last night of a convention gets a bit boring after a while. Especially after witnessing it for the last eight years or so (YAWN).

So here's some alternatives.

Ritual shredding - this should be quite easy, since the venue should have access to one. Either that or one of the more paranoid celebrants can bring one from home.

Eaten by Goats - donation to the RSPCA optional.

Driving it into the ground - The celebrant with the most expensive car

Sludging - visit the local sewage plant and deposit the book. Care must be taken that none of the celebrants in their state of inebriation fall in.

Explosion - Call in the army demolitions team. The cheap alternative is to find that geek who works in a university lab and has access to all those interesting chemicals.

Or my favourite 'destruction by psychic powers'.

Imagine all the participants stand around the book, focusing their hate and revulsion willing it out of existence......while the rest of us stand around laughing at the various constipated sounds and the occasional exaltation "and also I can kill you with my mind!" coming out of the celebrants.

Love and lollipops
