Jane may have been conflating events from the Second Anglo-Dutch War (1667) with the events of the Glorious Revolution (1688-9; which was neither Glorious nor much of a Revolution)?

Which, to certain socio-political groups at least, was an outright (and successful) invasion, and Dutch Billy certainly did get as far as London (and the Boyne...).
