Sort of kind of. Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Maine opposed the War of 1812 and participated in the Hartford Convention. New York - a bastion of the Republican-Democrat movement - did not oppose war in Canada but it did oppose war with Great Britain, its main trading partner. New York split its vote on the war - Senato John Smith (Dem.-Rep) voted for the war, Senator Obadiah German (Dem.-Rep) voted against the war.
Nowadays, New York City would be perfectly happy conquering Canada with its police department, if that meant that New York could control Canadian immigration. New Yorkers are kind of obsessed with immigration issues for the last six years for some reason.
