Oh, I really hate how all the gods who were once individual gods are now suddenly just the same god in different shapes. Vinga and Barntar are Vinga and Barntar, NOT Orlanth. I don't care what Greg says!

OK, let me rephrase: if you want female PCs to be able to access exactly the same divine combat magic as male PCs - without having to accept any more restrictions than their male counterparts - then they can be Lunar cultists. Or Humakti.

But if you want your female PCs to able to access exactly the same divine magic as your male Orlanth-worshiping PCs, then they are going to have a harder time than the male Orlanth-worshiping PCs. That's what Vinga lets female PCs do - they get to be Orlanth worshipers (and not Ernalda, Maran, Redalda, Babs Gor, or Common Magic users). But Orlanth is more than just a Combat God - he is the Heortling Men's God. Women who get Men's God magic are going to be different from other women and be viewed differently.

Does this make sense?

Because you want your female PC to be able to worship the Men's God and use His magic, and yet still be "normal" women.
