She is referred to as Leika Ballista in KOS, for a start. And its not just an oddity of her stats, its a well known nickname for her.

Seems odd to me, unless they have a different idea of chieftainship.
And Redalda clearly isn't a Vinga alternative unless you
think women fighting is all there is to it - Vinga offers a female access to the great mysteries of Orlanth, including quite specifically the normal chieftain gods, while Redaldas main focus is Bless Family and Bless Horse (some Redaldans might be warriors, but its certainly not primarily a warrior cult). Redalda certainly doesn't leap out as the sort of cult for a clan leader.

And it seems to have the same attitude of 'lets mess with stuff just for the hell of it' - there were a few real facts known about Leika, a very established character, which seem to have been messed with gratuitously for no apparent reason.

(not saying that learning new facts and writing them in isn't good - there are plenty of characters that don't have 25 years of established history to mess with instead)

Where is she even mentioned in a published source?
Not that I'm going to run the Peter gambit of objecting to
the use of unpublished source - rather to point out that any character so important as to not actually make it into published source, including those that allegedly tell the stories of the life of Kallyr must be.... really not all that important. The efforts to point to Ernaldans of note look increasingly like grasping at straws.

Thats because they were mostly just called Orlanthi women in the RQ era (of which there are quite a few).

(and just in case you haven't got this point yet - fewer people would be objecting to the treatment of Vinga if it wasn't for the big retcon that made her the only path for female storm powers and Orlanth cult membership - you don't get to have it both ways, and airily dismiss Vinga as historically unimportant while aggressively cheering the very changes that made her so important now)

	Cheers
