But isn't that the whole point of playing Pendragon -- to recreate and emulate a particular genre. If you want a setting with radically different genre roles, then you might decide to use the Pendreagon rules, or riff off the Arthurian myth or whatever -- but you aren't playing Pendragon. This is something I really don't get about part of this debate -- the notion that somehow Heortling culture ought not to be sexist and have all kinds of stupid, patriarchal restrictions... you know, the way most RW cultures do. It's like complaining that you can't have an Orlanthi ninja or be a Dara Happan hippy without your family disowning you.
