I entirely understand that, Ian; I've made the same comment privately. I believe I have restricted myself to discussing my own experiences and desires, or the difficulties of terminology and their application. I enjoy a wide variety of games and gaming styles; perhaps more than many. If HeroQuest 2 caters for these a little less than its forebear did, then that is a source of very mild personal regret, nothing more. I fully understand that HeroQuest 2 will provide enjoyment to many, and would never gainsay that.

Unfortunately, certain ideas that underly these discussions, both in their development and advocacy, do not grant me the same favour. This position is difficult to ignore.

If there's any moral high ground here--and I mean with respect to the broader issue, not in respect to yourself--I sure as hell have it.
