Another Song

Nick prompted me to finish off this Blues standard - It's not what I'm singing in CJ's Pelorian Song Contest freeform at Continuum, though I guess it would fit there...

There is a house in Old Raibanth
It's called the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy Yelm knows, and I was one.

My Father was a Soldier
With a Bright shield and a spear
My Mother was a serving girl
Down by the old Oslir

Now when she spied my father there
she knew just what he'd like
from the way he wore his armour bold
and the way he held his pike!

Oh mother tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the House of the Rising Sun

Now when you serve Yelmalio
You can't do what you Please
So I'm going back to Old Raibanth
To take on another geas

There is a house in Old Raibanth
It's called the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy Yelm knows, and I was one.
