We're not raising our children right...

This isn't a new observation, but I thought that I might add my thoughts on the subject.

I'm running an Orlanthi clan with Issaries as my secondary god. As my nobles are slowing being killed off (and I haven't sent anyone to visit Cragspider), and the younger generation is maturing, I find that my nobles are all growing up to be Elmali.

I don't dislike Elmali. Some of my best friends are Elmali. But _at_!#$, I don't want my kids to grow up to be Elmali. Is this some sort of Dragon Pass adolescent rebellion? As a parent (in a virtual sense) to all of these children, I feel as if I have failed in my responsibility to raise these kids.

Perhaps I listened to Ernalda when she said that there is always another way, when I should have been applying some Violence-is-always-an-option to instill some discipline and respect into the younger generation.

Maybe I spent too much time concentrating on hero quests when I should have stayed at home instilling Orlanthi values into the younger generation.

Starting a tribe is important. Becoming the tribal king is important. But there is no point to any of it if all of the children grow up to be Elmali...

Thank you for listening to my diatribe. I feel much better now.

P.S. My first RuneQuest character was Orlanthi, and I've been following the wind ever since.
