The lack of leaders thing

A recurring issue that keeps coming up on this list is either "I'm running out of nobles" or "I'm running out of nobles of this very useful sect" or "All of my nobles are from the same few sects, one more unlucky death and I won't even have seven different cults available for my ring."

For the most part my position was "well, isn't that how life goes sometimes?" but I was thinking about it some more, and it occured to me that if it annoys enough people, having some method of remedy would be nice. It doesn't have to be automatic, easy, or convenient, simply something that is available if the problem is severe enough.

Gee, sounds a lot like heroquesting, doesn't it?

I was thinking a possibly "simple" patch (i.e. it would only require one block of software to be edited, hopefully) would be to add another option to one of the heroquests. I could see any one of the following: 1) Ernalda--"Gain Ernalda's blessing on children born this year, to make them into heroes." (could then use the same feature as the omen that says children born this year will have a glorious destiny). 2) Issaries--Attract new nobles. The lord of marketing puts out the good word, and a few young bucks show up looking to join your clan and make themselves famous (probably would have a negative impact on clan mood, they may stir up trouble if they don't get on the ring or get to lead missions--putting in these features could be more work than it is worth).
3) Challana Arroy--"Heal our nobles of the hidden scars that hold them back" a few of the nobles that were not available as leaders get over their shyness, disabilities, or whatever, and make themselves available. Should probably emphasize cults with no available leader (our leading Uraldan didn't want to get involved with clan politics until Ch. Ar. took away her doubt of her own judgement).
4) The Making of the Storm Tribe--"Gain Orlanth's blessing to add new noble families to the clan." Two or three nobles, a few thanes and a few dozen carls show up at the end of the quest to be adopted into the clan.

Now, obviously the good folk at A-sharp probably don't want to put any more major work into the game, so the whole subject is probably moot, but what do people think of the general idea, and what quests and results would you think are appropriate?
