Does anyone know how the total number of possible trade routes is calculated? I know what will increase the number, I'd just like to have some idea of maximums for planning purposes.

BTW I've got to cast my vote for favorite seasonal event in favor of the visit by the RQ2 adventuring party. Outside of the goodies, the depiction of a Heortling clan's reaction to a typical gaming group is just wonderful.
