"kingmakers"?

One of the possible goals for the Making of the Storm Tribe heroquest is to "make us kingmakers."

I'm wondering if this just helps us get our preferred candidate from another clan elected king, or if it helps us elect our own king too?

If anyone has completed the quest for this option, do you recall/can you recover what the game told you afterwards to describe the benefit?
