OK, combining suggestions.....
There is some deed or quest you can perform to get a
shrine to Voriof. If not only helps your sheep
population, but makes your children sacred time magic
work a bit like heroes magic, so that your young
nobles appear with higher average skill levels. This
wouldn't be important in the early game, but would be
fantastically useful in the latter parts of long
games.
