I have no problem owing some favors to some other clans, but owing favors, possibly multiple favores, to everyone in the tribe I can't imagine is healthy. I'd think we'd develop a reputation as sponges that borrow from everyone else far faster than they needed things from us.

I often find this is a challenge when I'm in the intensive heroquesting stage after creating a tribe. If we don't have a trickster then for many quests it really is advisable to get tribal support, but that support adds up to favors owed if you ask for it enough times. In the case of this particular clan they started off already owing favors to about half of their tribe mates because the gave start ran something like two favors owed and eight favors owing, and a rough early game didn't let them get easily out of debt.

So like I said, I don't want to pay off all of the favors owed, just *some* of them. To use your credit comparison, potential creditors like you to have some existing loans.....just not to have too many or too large existing loans!
