Sometimes. They can be like the usual kind of prophesy... Of course there's some room for interpretation.

We got attacked by trolls right after the Esrolians showed up and asked for shelter.

Usually I sacrifice a few horses to Kolat when he asks. That seems to often give me some magic as well. Going back to give him a rewared never seems to work though.
