I see in movies where the attacker is more focused on attacking than defence. In this case, I think the attacker should get a bonus of +4 to attack and damage. For a penalty, their next defensive roll is at 50%. Does anyone use anything like this and any suggestions. 2)I do not use Glorantha for my Runequest. I play RQIII. Does anyone have a website with their world but not using Glorantha? I would like to see some other examples. My real question is - is there a really good goods list out there >that people use for RQ? >Cheers, >Dave Yes there is a really good goods list out there that we use for RQ. _Harn_ also equates one penny with one day's wage and _Harn_ has an extensive pricelist. For all my own studies of coins and prices (I think that I have posted in the past re: Charlemagne's legislated prices for food and the price of arms and armor and livestock) RQ3 is far and away the best, as far as it goes, for matching Charlemagne's ratios of values. _Harn_ is next best and presents lists that are more extensive. The stats suggest a statue about 7 to 10 feet tall and weighing about half a ton. 30 Siz is about right for a Zebra. Siz = AP = HP doesn't work either. It would scale up to over 100 AP for the 25 ft version. There should be some upper limit for AP due to the stone composition such as 40 AP... unless you consider Jolanti to be on a par with the horrors of Glorantha such as the Greater Hydras, then an AP of 100 is certainly appropriate (Hydra is around AP 200). I think that when I ran the Cradle, I set it's AP around 60 so that the players couldn't break it with their swords. As a normal bonus, there is nothing special. There are built-in rewards such as getting another action for a second attack, assuming that the enemy does not incapacitate you or knock you back. There is a lot to be said for giving the guy Fanaticism: 1.5x skill and no defense, just attack twice if you are still up. I\'ve been playing RQ for 12 years (started playing at the age of 11). Most of the gaming has taken place in Glorantha. I just subscibed to the list. Just couple of questions: 1) Adamantite / Truestone. Does anyone have statistics in RQ3 terms for these. Elder secrects has few paragraphs about the Truestone (Divine Magic storing properties etc.), but i can\\\'t find any information about AP and/or damage bonuses (surely there must be some for either one of them. 2) Travelling. Basically it doesn\\\'t matter whether you travel by foot or by horse, the speed is the same. Does anybody have good house-rules about this? Truestone is believed to be only breakable by mystical or godly powers, not by any normal weapon. Adamantium is a 'metal' derived from Truestone and could only be made by gods (Mostal only??). Since mortals can't shape it, any weapons would be primitive daggers, spears and maces (all extremely rare). The truestone portion would have intense AP values but the gripping portions would be breakable normally. > 2) Traveling. Basically it doesn't matter whether you > travel by foot or by horse, the speed is the same. Does > anybody have good house-rules about this? As long as there are pack animals or a baggage train this walking speed is mandatory. The animals should get a day of rest every week. If you can send cavalry out alone, then it can alternate walk and trot (or canter) to double normal walking movements for a day. The mount tires much faster and should get a day of rest after two days of travel. If you can trade mounts every day, then you can travel at double the mount's base speed. These are rough approximations, all IMO. The legendary Jolanti were made by the Dwarves during an earlier age when magic must have been stronger. Then they were given intelligence by the Aldrya and became free beings. Many (all??) were at the 'Too Tall Battle' and died. Pavis' Dwarven friends used their magical bodies to seal the gaps between the stones of the Pavis walls, IIRC. Since Pavis & Big Rubble were RQ2 modules, their Jolanti were big, but no stats were given. In RQ3 Jolanti are man height or slightly larger, so this must be a 'modern' form, or they keep growing for a long time. Who knows??
