He actually scrawled his permission on his copy of mercenaries and militia that copying the out of print 2nd edition books was ok as long as no profit was involved. Anyway that's my excuse for flaunting the copyright rules steve PS the demon rules in Elric do not transfer well to RQ as the system is suitably different. They also allow, and it is accepted, things like demon armour which offers 50 plus protection and demon weapons that do 50 plus damage. This I feel would destroy a RQ combat. *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@lists.imagiconline.com with the line 'unsubscribe runequest-rules' as the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 1 Jun 2000 16:27:02 EDT From: SPerrin@aol.com Subject: Re: [RQ-RULES] Demons In a message dated 6/1/00 1:03:37 PM Pacific Daylight Time, SteveWTurner@aol.com writes: > > PS the demon rules in Elric do not transfer well to RQ as the system is > suitably different. This I feel would destroy a RQ combat. > > For Elric-like demon rules, I figure the demon has abilities dependent on its POW rating. Thus, a POW 14 Demon of Protection could become Armor worth 14 points, or perhaps Armor worth 10 points and Countermagic on the armor worth 4 points, etc. It also means an Attack Demon with that POW might become a sword with 1d20 damage and +20% to hit. The actual demon has Health (Hit Points) figured normally, and takes the damage normally if the armor is penetrated or weapon attacked. This includes Hit Location allocations, to the above demon, which might have 15 Health, only has 4 points on the arms, so if the wearer of the armor above is hit by the bearer of the sword above, and the swordbearer Rolls up an extra success and takes full damage, he does 24 points (assuming a d4 damage bonus) to the Armor wearer's arm. The Demon is 14 points of armor, penetrated, 4 Hit points of arm, penetrated, and the wearer takes 6 points of damage to the arm. Not good. Not good for the demon, either, though what exactly happens to that arm of the armor I tend to leave for the dramatic necessities of the moment. Steve Perrin, always finding a new way to mess with the rules. Makes for a nasty critter, but other magic is on a par with it and they can be taken down, as my players have proven on a couple of occasions. *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@lists.imagiconline.com with the line 'unsubscribe runequest-rules' as the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 01 Jun 2000 20:06:05 MST From: "Northern DM" Subject: Re: [RQ-RULES] Demons Steve, Please send me a copy. I'd love to be able to buy RQ stuff in a shop but i just can't (I'm waiting impatiently for Rick meints Griffin Mountain reprint). Thus I've been forced to get old RQ2 stuff off ebay and its not that cheap.
