RULES OF THE ROAD 1. Do not include large sections of a message in your reply. Especially not to add "Yeah, I agree" or "No, I disagree." Or be excoriated. If someone writes something good and you want to say "good show" please do. But don't include the whole message you praise. 2. Use an appropriate Subject line. 3. Learn the art of paraphrasing: Don't just quote and comment on a point-by-point basis. 4. No anonymous posting, please. Don't say something unless you're ready to stand by it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Mon, 5 Jun 2000 07:57:49 +0100 From: "Dawson Ricky (RD)" Subject: [RQ-RULES] Demons and Lone & Level Sands Meirion: I have at last pulled out the copy of the demon articles & the accompanying scenario from White Dwarf - I gather from the number of posts to the list that there is a fair amount of interest - how do you want to go about splitting this up ? - I can't scan these but I can post photocopies to people. So a Protection Spirit do not cast a "Protection" Spell but protects the character in some way (according to its might level), which actual effect depends on the Narrators' interpretation. If somebody's got a summary of Elric demon rules, I would be interested to know more. Alain. I don't necessarily share your views on all the concepts you are developping, but so far my RQ/HW adaptation will probably be along those lines as well. I am waiting for more ! Especially your combat new rules, if any, and magic rules ? What I'm going to do is have only 1 combat skill, with sub-type (eg Sword and shield) and no longer two separate attack and parry skills. With a system probably similar to Pendragon (one winner and one loser each round, with the winner only inflicting damages), but with a kind of HW simple contest table for specific effects (parry, critical...). I also envisage to use a wound level system rather than HP, but I have to think a bit more about it. Another major difference compared to your system is that I'll use only one kind of critical (no more special succes), being 10% of the roll (rounded down, so easy to calculate : no critical if skill 09 or less, critical=01 if skill 10 to 19, and so on..). A double which is a failure will be a fumble (so no more fumble for character with a skill above or equal 100%, except if the skill is reduced for any reason). Alain. Just as a matter of interest, would now be good time to ask about the virus my computer has? Nah just kidding But, I have now got Cults of terror (2nd ed RQ) scanned in the same format as Demons. But as it is ten times bigger I do not want to email to everyone. Has anyone got a site to put it on? Please advise? Also, I never did get a response to my original reason for joining. Come on don't let me down now. Has any one got the griffin mountain write up on plate mail?? steve *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@lists.imagiconline.com with the line 'unsubscribe runequest-rules' as the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 05 Jun 2000 19:55:08 -0400 From: Tal Meta Subject: Re: [RQ-RULES] Demons SteveWTurner@aol.com wrote: > > How many people are on this list? Please advise? How big is it? You can just go to a place like fortunecity or geocities or something and get about 20MB of free space. They don't like people to used the sites for warehousing, but you will not be bothered for the first coupple of months. Also, just put up a simple html page with "under consturction" as the index page and link to the scanned documnets from there. - -Terje Tollisen, lurker ______________________________________________ FREE Personalized Email at Mail.com Sign up at http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@lists.imagiconline.com with the line 'unsubscribe runequest-rules' as the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Jun 2000 16:05:39 +0300 (EET DST) From: Olli-Pekka Kantola Subject: Re: [RQ-RULES] Demons yOn Mon, 5 Jun 2000 SteveWTurner@aol.com wrote: > But, I have now got Cults of terror (2nd ed RQ) scanned in the same format as > Demons. You could e-mail it to me and I would put it online in lyyra, a server in which I have unlimited quota in lyyra.kempele.fi/~nysalor/Cot or something. The only catch is some advertising on the page, and occasional email ads. I'm not sure if you need to be a member to have access to someone else's files, but it might be worth looking into.
