Re: [RQ-RULES] Ping? RULES OF THE ROAD 1. Do not include large sections of a message in your reply. Especially not to add "Yeah, I agree" or "No, I disagree." Or be excoriated. If someone writes something good and you want to say "good show" please do. But don't include the whole message you praise. 2. Use an appropriate Subject line. 3. Learn the art of paraphrasing: Don't just quote and comment on a point-by-point basis. 4. No anonymous posting, please. Don't say something unless you're ready to stand by it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Wed, 28 Nov 2001 15:25:00 -0800 From: "Andrew O. Well good, hopeful old age has mellowed him a bit. My brief meeting was over 18 years ago at Gen-Con XV, so maybe the pressure of the Con was upon him and his mind. He was nice enough to sign my copy of DMG, but after talking to him and listening to his, his, his drivel I wanted to rip the front page with the Unicorn out and throw it at his feet. Alas, I did not for I saw dollar signs if I'd hold on to it and sold it later as a collectable. Runequest has always been around. You see Stafford did it right by only selling the rights to RQ and not all of Chaosium and Glorantha. Unlike TSR who got eaten by WOTC , who then got eaten by Hasbro. Runequest is the All-Father of all game systems. And it still goes strong despite what those 3rd Ed. and Hero Wars people say. Great old game systems never die, they just end up on Ebay at outrageous prices :) Sloth > Woah. > > May I beg, borrow, or whimper for a copy? > I've about 4 gigs I'd love to fill with RQ info. The trick is figuring out which CD they're all on. :) I can't believe this. I just can't believe this! I've just received an email from Steve Perrin to glance over his website. People, I really, really thought RQ died completely years ago and to find you all AND Steve Perrin AND RQ still going just blows my mind. As I told Mr. Perrin, RQ has been a vehicle for entertainment and camaraderie for my friends and I for two _decades_ and I've used it to help teach troubled teens how to work as a team. It's had a major effect on my life because of the close friendships it's helped me build and to realize it's still active..well..I'm just stunned. Ecstatic but stunned. Nice to meet you all! I hope to be able to contribute a little, now and then. I while ago I started work on a composite Glorantha CD Project but abandoned it due to lack of cooperation. I dug out my archives and started updating the format and posting them to crashbox. I started with Andrew Bells complete Archives. It is now on the rq-rules page on crashbox. http://www.crashbox.com/rq-rules Tomorrow I'll be able to post Henks and Lorens. - -Andrew - -- *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list send mail to majordomo@lists.ient.com with the line 'unsubscribe runequest-rules' as the body of the message. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 29 Nov 2001 00:41:47 -0800 From: "Steve Perrin" Subject: Re: [RQ-RULES] Ping?
