Heaven forbid I interject for Martin, but if you want some basic data now, the titles are listed in ILH1 p.14, and Tarsh War p.7. The latter give higher ranks that are not covered in ILH1. Should be easier for Martin to critique if there is a problem. As a summary:
Lunar Army commanders (typically 5000+): 'General' in New Pelorian and for Dara Happa; 'Warlord' in Lunar terms. The Lunar rank is the official one; I also take the phrasology to mean 'General' is also official. A Fereshori commands a Lunar vexilla.
[out of interest the other terms are Carmania:'Armiger', Darjiin:'Verondumu', Pelanda/Sylila:'Warlord', Riliddi use the Dara Happan term]
In Tarsh War, higher ranks are specified:
New General: brigade commander, e.g. Dayzatarlassar. D-H: General of the Single Star, Carmania: Lt. General
Crescent General: divisional commander, e.g. Livius Thrax in TW. D-H: General of Two Stars, Carmania: Field Commander.
Waxing General: corps commander, e.g. Tatius as Dean of CoM. D-H: General of Three Stars, Carmania: Captain General.
Half General: Army commander, e.g. Fazzur. D-H: General of Four Stars, Carmania: Lord General.
Full General: Moonson, JarEel, BM. D-H: General of Five Stars, Carmania: Field Marshal.
Not sure of the continuity betwee TW and ILH at this level.
