I'm just playing around with dates and events for Heortland. Please let me know of any published king of Heortland that this contradicts. I don't have names yet - and I'm open to suggestions. All dates are approximate and open to change. As is just about everything else.

Andrin. From 1309 to 1316. Fought against Pharaoh on behalf of his people's ancient ally. Pharaoh proved that he was unjust and killed him whereupon the Hendreiki disintegrated.

Andrin. From 1325 to 1370. Pharaoh brought Andrin back to life. Reformed the Hendreiki and apportioned Heortland into Marches and appointed Barons over them and four Earls to oversee the Barons. Replaced clan chiefs with sheriffs, who had been schooled in Larnsti magic. Wrote the Laws of Andrin and called by his many foes the "Zombie King".

[Hendreiki ]. From 1370 to 1380. First successor to Andrin. Appointed
Earl of Gardufar by Andrin. Prudent and hardworking, he was called the "Clerk King". During his rule, Karsten Nine-with-One fought with the Bacofi.

[ Heortlending]. From 1380 to 1405. Appointed baron by Andrin, made a
Earl of Gardufar by [ ]. Called the "Holy King" for he had the Pharaoh's favor and discussed with him often.

[ Heortlending ]. From 1405 to 1425. Earl of Gardufar. His coronation
as King of Heortland was contested by Hardrard the Green king of the Volsaxi, who called himself High King of the Hendreiki. Hardrard established himself at Whitewall. Long and inconclusive civil war - it ultimately sputters out.

[ Heortlending ]. From 1425 to 1460. Earl of Karhend. The "Good
King", his coronation was not contested by the Volsaxi and even the Larnsti acknowledged him as king. Trade prospered and he was a patron of traditionalists and Aeolians. Built Knights Fort to protect Esvular from Praxians.

[Heortlending ]. From 1460 to 1470. Earl of Gardufar. The "Magical
King", his coronation was attended by the Pharaoh. Arts and letters flourish. Exiles Sartar following the transformative contest.

[Esvulari]. From 1470 to 1490. Earl of Esvulari. The first "Aeolian
King", his crown was contested by the Volsaxi who again proclaimed themselves High Kings of the Hendreiki. Allied with Kitori.

[ Esvulari]. From 1490 to 1545. Earl of Esvulari. The "Forever King"
or the "Old King", his reign was long and uneventful. Over the course of his long reign appointed Esvulari to most of the sherriff positions and nearly all of the baronies and all of the earldoms. Defeated Volsaxi.

[ Esvulari]. From 1545 to 1560. Earl of Esvulari. Follower of St.
Ehilm. Abandoned Kitori, who cut off his trade. Fought Chaos from Print. Defeated by the Earls' Conspiracy, ruled another ten years.

[Esvulari]. 1561. The "Unlucky" King. Ruled only 40 days.

[Esvulari]. To 1565. A weak king.

[Esvulari]. To 1570. Another old, weak king. Council of Nobles rule
kingdom.

[[Esvulari]. To 1585. Uses sheriffs to reestablishes primacy over the
other nobles. First king to hire Western mercenaries.

[Esvulari]. To 1595. First king to appoint foreigners as sheriffs.

[Esvulari]. To 1617. Relies extensively on Western mercenaries and
foreigners. Neither loved or hated, feared or respected.

Just some thoughts. The brackets indicates what kind of name the king has - Hendreiki (which is more or less traditional Heortling), Heortlending (which is like Sartar, Saronil, etc.) or Esvulari. Let me know what you think.
