Howdy -

Ian - this is an excellent idea. Let's get some cross-pollination going.

Brilliant. Ian - did you forward on my "Volsaxi, Volsaxar, Vingkotling" e-mail? That's my most current thoughts from the perspective I care about the most (the Volsaxi).

Makes perfect sense to me. I think the reforms barely touched the Volsaxi - mainly to trigger a counter-reformation. One of my ideas that the Volsaxi have denied the Andrini kings are truly kings of the Hendeiki and have on at least one occasion crowned their own High Kings with that title (Hardrand the Green, and after 1617 Broyan).

Maybe a bit of all of the above. My current take is that Rikard had been granted a barony and thus technically fit the qualifications for king under the Andrini reforms. As a Rokari, there was no way that he could be king of the Hendreiki (which is a subtlely different thing from being king of Heortland - I'm trying to exploit the inconsistent usage of "Heortland" and "Hendreiki" over the years), so Broyan of the Volsaxi recognized Rikard as King of Malkonwal ("the Empty Oath") and had himself proclaimed King of the Hendreiki by his Larnsti supporters. Civil war and other good fun ensues.

        I'm all for surprises!
