I have no trouble with any of that.

In our old model, IIRC, the auxiliaries (i.e. provincials, allies and mercenaries) only ever needed lay membership in Yanafal's cult.

I rather doubt there was a Yelmic precursor to this (common membership in a unifying *military* cult).
