Sounds like Eurmal to me; although anything so similar to a Disrupt has to have Humakt involved somewhere....

When Eurmal stole Death, he left The First Pun in its place; and this was so ingeniously nasty that Humakt was actually distracted long enough by figuring out how to work it that Eurmal got away.... (told by Humakti; you believe everything a Humakti tells you?)
