At this point I'm just sitting back and enjoying the fun :-).

No, Kathy wasn't quite as bloody-minded as Kallyr.

For the "Powerful NPC Guardian", I'd rather go with a Powerful *Otherworldly* NPC guardian - This gal is a-political, because her allegiance belongs to some sort of Otherworld being - she'd be more like a Disciple (Storm Tribe), wandering through the battlefield unharmed like Kwai Chang Caine (remember the old Kung Fu TV show?). If butts need kicking, she's there to do it (Even if that means translating "Kickking butt" as "smothering with song" or "Loving into drooling insensibility"...). She's neither Lunar nor Heortling, I know that for sure.
