My characters (Sartarites and Volsaxings) often travel with a herd of horses, and usually a herd of cattle and sheep. Although they have a prize box of silver (a gift from the High King), most of their wealth is livestock, fine metalwork, jewelry, and various goods they have picked up from various places. They are as likely to cut coins up into little pieces and weigh them, than to be too impressed with the claim of some foreigner that the value of the coin is decreed by some foreign ruler.
