This discussion gives me the idea of a really dodgy Argrath. One who turns up in Sartar from Pavis with something Kallyr badly needs at the time. He cons her into marrying him, takes over what she's built and gains support from other clans who didn't want to follow a woman. Then when he's ready to marry the FHQ he gets Harrek to kill Kallyr. In that case "wisely" probably means marriage was preferable to having Harrek let loose in the Grazelands.
