He left because he was a loser in the Loskalmi Wars of Succession (the God Learner intervention was fuel to this fire). That his wife did a runner with his brother did happen but most gloranthan nobles would resolve their maritial difficulties with a sword than leave home.

I don't like the name of Dolebury and at the time of Glorantha:tSA, the capital is at Kitor. Dolebury was the name of their capital at the time of the Lunar wars.
